Construction Superintendent

Shames Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on‑site commercial projects across the Western United States. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering high‑quality work, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and enjoys guiding teams from the front.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all on‑site construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and quality standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily field operations, managing subcontractors, vendors, and project schedules.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contracts, and construction documents to guide accurate execution.
• Identify potential issues early and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Conduct and document daily jobsite activities, safety meetings, inspections, and progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and project‑specific requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, punch lists, and close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of commercial construction experience.
• 3–5 years as a Commercial Construction Superintendent.
• Experience with ground‑up construction, tenant improvements, and commercial remodels.
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain productive jobsite relationships.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, safety regulations, and quality control.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Procore.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using other construction management software.
