Construction Superintendent

About the role

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee the full lifecycle of home building projects, from permit acquisition through final homeowner walk‑through. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality homes on schedule while ensuring safety, compliance, and an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule for multiple homes, coordinating all subcontractors for each phase.
• Inspect workmanship and product quality, halting any non‑compliant work and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal building codes.
• Authorize subcontractor payments after thorough inspections and verification of standards.
• Conduct homeowner orientations, provide regular progress updates, and address concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and visually appealing worksite and community environment.
• Oversee post‑close warranty processes, assess requests, schedule repairs, and ensure quality assurance.
• Collaborate with sales, warranty, and management teams to facilitate proactive issue resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing residential construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and construction standards.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
