Construction Superintendent

About the role

D.R. Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder, is seeking a Superintendent to oversee the construction of multiple residential homes from permit to closing. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality homes on schedule while providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule and ensure homes are completed on time, within budget, and to company quality standards.
• Schedule, supervise, and evaluate subcontractors for each phase, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
• Inspect workmanship and product quality, halt non‑compliant work, and authorize subcontractor payments after thorough inspection.
• Conduct homeowner orientations, walkthroughs, and maintain regular communication on progress.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and visually appealing worksite and community area.
• Oversee post‑close warranty processes, assess requests, schedule repairs, and ensure quality assurance.
• Collaborate with sales, warranty, and management teams to resolve issues proactively.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing residential construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and construction standards.
• Ability to supervise multiple subcontractors and coordinate schedules effectively.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Professional and ethical conduct with a focus on quality and safety.
