Construction Superintendent – Home Building

About the role

D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the United States, is seeking a Superintendent to oversee the construction of new homes from permit to closing. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality homes on schedule while ensuring a positive experience for homeowners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule for multiple home sites, coordinating all subcontractors for each phase.
• Inspect workmanship and product quality, halting any non‑compliant work and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal building codes.
• Authorize subcontractor payments after thorough inspections and verification of material deliveries.
• Conduct homeowner orientations, walk‑throughs, and regular communications to address concerns and keep owners informed of progress.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and visually appealing worksite and community throughout construction.
• Oversee post‑close warranty processes, assess requests, schedule repairs, and ensure quality assurance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing residential construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
