Construction Superintendent – Chesapeake, VA

About the role

Bilfinger is seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead the day‑to‑day operations of a commercial/industrial construction site in Chesapeake, VA. You will be responsible for coordinating all on‑site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Project Manager to review scope, schedule, and budget.
• Direct and monitor subcontractors, vendors, and on‑site personnel.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and enforce company, contract, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare daily project reports and update the contract intranet site.
• Manage punch‑list items, close‑out documentation, and final project turnover.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
• Proven ability to manage resources, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high‑quality results.
• Adaptable to fast‑changing environments and committed to safety culture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
