Construction Site Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Site Supervisor to join Canam’s team, overseeing steel‑structure projects across the Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic United States. The role involves coordinating deliveries, managing on‑site activities, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with plant coordinators, steel erectors, and project managers on daily material requests and deliveries.
• Attend field meetings, summarize outcomes for project managers, and update progress in Smartsheet.
• Review and accept erection drawings, track acceptance dates, and follow up on revisions.
• Validate material deliveries, maintain daily site logs, and assist erectors with repair requests.
• Perform visual quality control and support health‑and‑safety coordinators.
• Maintain on‑site records, including hazard assessments, and communicate with general contractors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Construction trade journeyman certificate or diploma.
• 3‑5 years of construction site supervision experience.
• Ability to read and interpret structural shop, layout, and erection drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction schedules, Gantt charts, and industry standards.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Experience using Smartsheet for daily progress tracking.
• Reading and interpreting structural shop drawings.
• Construction scheduling and Gantt‑chart management.
