Construction & Real Estate Attorney

About the role

FBT Gibbons is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Real Estate Practice Group across any U.S. office. The attorney will provide comprehensive legal support on construction and real‑estate matters, handling complex contracts and advising clients throughout project lifecycles.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction and construction‑related contracts for all delivery methods (design‑bid‑build, design‑build, CM‑at‑risk, EPC).
• Advise clients on risk‑mitigation strategies from pre‑construction through close‑out.
• Work with professional services agreements and industry‑standard forms such as AIA and ConsensusDocs.
• Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and produce high‑quality written work.
• Collaborate with attorneys, engineers, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of construction law experience within a real‑estate practice.
• Strong academic record and excellent research and writing abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Commitment to client service and ethical practice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AIA contract forms.
• Familiarity with ConsensusDocs standards.
• Knowledge of design‑bid‑build, design‑build, CM‑at‑risk, and EPC delivery methods.
