Construction Project Manager

About the role

As a Construction Project Manager at H&M Group, you will lead retail construction projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet the company’s standards for quality, safety, sustainability, and cost efficiency. The position is hybrid, based in New York, and reports to the Construction Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop investment budgets, business cases, and detailed project plans aligned with global construction processes.
• Conduct site surveys, value‑engineering studies, and risk analyses to support decision‑making.
• Coordinate with leasing, legal, consultants, and authorities to secure permits and define contractual obligations.
• Support procurement activities, pre‑qualify contractors, and review contracts to mitigate project and country‑specific risks.
• Manage contract execution, payment schedules, and ensure compliance with governance rules.
• Monitor construction progress through site visits, enforce quality, health, and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement of planning tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing end‑to‑end construction projects, preferably in a retail or commercial environment.
• Strong ability to work with internal and external partners, including consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to handle budgeting, risk assessment, and contract management.
