Construction Manager / Superintendent

About the role

The Construction Manager/Superintendent will lead all phases of assigned construction projects in Los Angeles, from pre‑construction planning through bid, award, construction, and close‑out. This senior position ensures projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review pre‑construction documents and provide feedback to designers.
• Prepare and present status reports to senior management.
• Coordinate with public agencies and district staff to secure permits and comply with off‑site requirements.
• Manage project budgets and schedules, monitoring financial performance on a monthly basis.
• Oversee daily site activities, ensuring safety compliance and quality control.
• Facilitate bid processes, award contracts, and supervise construction execution.
• Lead project close‑out activities, including final documentation and turnover.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of full‑time paid professional experience in commercial or public/educational construction, with a minimum of 3 years leading projects valued over $10 M.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, or a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential in lieu of the degree.
• Alternatively, 15 years of experience with 8 years of responsibility for $10 M+ projects.
• Preferred: additional degree, CCM credential, and licensure as an architect or professional engineer.

Required skills

• Building Information Modeling (BIM) proficiency.
• Experience with LEED‑certified and CHPS projects.
• Knowledge of Division of the State Architect (DSA) processes.
• OSHA 30 certification and strong safety management.
• Design‑Build project experience.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential.
• Valid architect or professional engineer license (California).
