Construction Manager – Retail Projects

About the role

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery & Development division is looking for a Construction Manager to lead retail construction, renovation and remodel projects across the United States. This high‑impact role works closely with Store Design, Operations, Facilities, Technology, Security and external vendors to deliver large‑scale projects on time and on budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 200+ construction and renovation projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules, budgets and quality standards.
• Develop and execute capital planning and life‑cycle replacement strategies for HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, fire/life‑safety and other critical equipment.
• Leverage project data, cost analytics and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and inform leadership decisions.
• Provide on‑site supervision, oversee general contractors, negotiate change orders and ensure compliance with AIA contract documentation and OSHA safety requirements.
• Collaborate with design teams to value‑engineer construction methods, reducing time and cost.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing high‑volume, multi‑site construction programs in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong ability to influence, negotiate and communicate with internal partners, contractors and vendors.
• Demonstrated data‑driven decision‑making and financial acumen.
• Experience coordinating with facilities, critical infrastructure and landlord representatives.
