Construction Manager – Retail Development

About the role

This position combines strategic program leadership with hands‑on construction oversight to deliver retail development projects for VF‑owned brands such as Vans, The North Face, and Timberland. You will manage the full lifecycle of design, construction, and execution to align with brand strategy, creative direction, and financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end planning and execution of multiple simultaneous retail design and construction projects.
• Develop and maintain project tools—including schedules, budgets, timelines, and resource forecasts—to track progress and deliverables.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders (vendors, contractors, architects, brand teams) to ensure projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.
• Drive cost efficiencies through value engineering, competitive bidding, and continuous process improvement.
• Oversee design development for flagship and longer‑lead locations.
• Manage high‑level communications throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing multiple concurrent retail or commercial construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and make independent decisions.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 % of the time, sometimes on short notice, and work extended hours as needed.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Smartsheet.
• Adobe Suite proficiency.
• Familiarity with construction‑project‑management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Multivista.
• Knowledge of architectural and construction drawings, materials, and processes.
