Construction Manager – Retail Construction & Renovation

About the role

Amazon’s Worldwide Grocery & Development division is looking for a Construction Manager to lead retail construction, renovation and remodel projects across the United States. The role sits at the intersection of Store Design, Operations, Facilities and other functional teams, driving high‑quality delivery at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a high‑volume portfolio of 200+ construction and renovation projects, maintaining schedules, budgets and FF&E delivery.
• Lead large‑scale, multi‑site programs from initiation through close‑out with minimal oversight.
• Develop and execute capital planning and life‑cycle replacement strategies for critical equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, controls, lighting and fire/life‑safety systems.
• Use project data, cost analytics and performance metrics to inform decisions, identify trends and continuously improve the program.
• Provide on‑site supervision, manage general contractors and vendor relationships, negotiate change orders and ensure compliance with AIA contract documentation and OSHA safety standards.
• Collaborate with Store Design, Operations, Facilities, Technology, Security and Loss Prevention to align construction methods with business goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering multiple retail construction or renovation projects simultaneously.
• Strong background in capital planning and life‑cycle management of building equipment.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing large‑scale, national project portfolios with fast‑changing priorities.
• Knowledge of AIA contract processes and OSHA compliance requirements.
