Construction Manager – Owner's Representative

About the role

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is looking for a Construction Manager to act as the owner’s representative for new builds, retrofits, expansions and program initiatives across a defined region. You will oversee the full construction lifecycle, from design review and contractor procurement through execution and operational hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent construction projects from design to hand‑over, ensuring alignment with Amazon’s specifications.
• Conduct detailed reviews of contractor bids, budgets and schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Own budget tracking, cash‑flow forecasting and cost management for each project.
• Negotiate contracts with developers, general contractors and labor providers.
• Audit contractor performance and coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction for permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Review construction documents and on‑site work for conformance to Amazon’s standards.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts, schedule clashes and coordination gaps across internal teams.
• Champion Amazon’s safety programs and maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong technical construction expertise with a commercial mindset.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% regionally and work from a corporate office when not traveling.
