Construction Manager – North America

About the role

Amazon's Global Engineering Services (GES) North America Design & Construction team is looking for a Construction Manager to act as the owner’s representative for new facilities and infrastructure supporting its logistics network. The role oversees the full construction lifecycle, from design review and contractor procurement through execution and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Amazon’s primary construction integrator and owner’s representative across assigned projects.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from design through operational handover, including fulfillment centers, sortation centers, delivery stations and auxiliary buildings.
• Review contractor bid packages, budgets and schedules; identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Own budget tracking, cash‑flow forecasting and overall cost management.
• Negotiate construction, procurement and labor contracts with developers and general contractors.
• Audit contractor performance to ensure required skills, competencies and resources.
• Coordinate permitting, regulatory compliance and approvals with authorities having jurisdiction.
• Review construction documents for conformance to Amazon specifications and resolve design or schedule conflicts.
• Coach and guide internal and external project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Champion Amazon’s safety programs and maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong technical construction expertise and commercial acumen.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Disciplined approach to safety, budget, schedule and stakeholder communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% regionally and work from a corporate office when not traveling.
• Ability to relocate within reasonable commuting distance of the office; relocation assistance may be provided.
