Construction Manager

About the role

M/I Homes is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee on‑site activities for assigned subdivisions. You will coordinate all phases of home building, ensuring quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction while meeting schedule and budget targets.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule subcontractor work, deliveries, and monitor progress to meet phase deadlines.
• Act as liaison between operations, subcontractors, and vendors, supervising and verifying completion of work.
• Conduct daily inspections of homes during construction phases to enforce quality control.
• Review site plans and blueprints to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Lead pre‑construction and pre‑settlement meetings with home buyers, resolve service issues, and manage warranty work.
• Control production costs by reviewing timesheets, invoices, and delivery documentation.
• Provide training, enforce safety policies, and supervise both staff and subcontractors.
• Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least one year of relevant construction management coursework.
• Minimum four years of related experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of home‑building processes and industry standards.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret site plans and blueprints.
• Proficiency in scheduling and coordinating subcontractor activities.
• Understanding of safety regulations and quality‑control procedures.
