Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all on‑site activities and coordinating subcontractors to ensure homes are built safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role works closely with internal departments, city inspectors, and trade partners to deliver high‑quality residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all homes under construction, including unsold sites, trailer areas, and community spaces.
• Coordinate daily construction activities without supervision, interacting with division teams and city inspectors.
• Study project specifications, plans, and scopes of work to effectively drive each project.
• Schedule trade partners, inspect work for quality, and ensure timely material deliveries.
• Prioritize labor and equipment resources to avoid delays and may supervise Assistant Builders.
• Address workforce complaints, resolve customer issues, and conduct daily site inspections for safety and quality compliance.
• Oversee completion of walk‑through items and ensure subcontractors follow company safety and quality standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date scheduling and payment systems to guarantee timely payments to trade partners.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to five years of practical construction experience managing multiple residential projects.
• Strong organizational and detail‑oriented management abilities.
• Ability to recognize and resolve problems while adhering to timelines.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Knowledge of local building codes and construction methods.
• Construction material identification and usage.
• Understanding of industry‑standard job site safety practices.
