Construction Manager

About the role

NewGround is seeking a Construction Manager to partner with senior leadership in delivering commercial construction projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, design teams, and on‑site superintendents to coordinate schedules, budgets, and compliance throughout the build phase.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain critical‑path project schedules and budget timelines.
• Inspect construction progress to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Manage all project documentation, including OAC meetings, safety reports, cost reports, pay applications, procurement logs, submittals, RFIs, and quality‑control records.
• Lead client and contractor meetings, communicate schedule or cost impacts, and devise mitigation strategies.
• Prepare purchase orders, subcontract drafts, and coordinate long‑lead item procurement.
• Obtain permits and licenses from authorities having jurisdiction and ensure environmental requirements are met.
• Assist in negotiating and drafting subcontract agreements, change orders, and client‑generated change orders.
• Support the Program Director in developing project budgets, estimates, and revenue forecasts.

Required profile

• Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract terms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting budget and schedule progress.
• Good leadership abilities and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in preparing and managing detailed construction documentation.

• Microsoft Project (critical‑path scheduling)

• ProCore (construction management software) – preferred
• Acumatica – preferred
• Knowledge of commercial construction methods, best practices, and constructability analysis
