Construction Manager – Hybrid (Geismar, Houston, Freeport)

About the role

BASF is seeking a Construction Manager Staff to join its Global Engineering team in the United States. The role is hybrid and supports sites in Geismar, LA, Houston, TX, and Freeport, TX, with up to 75% travel. You will provide technical support for construction, commissioning, and start‑up of large capital projects in the chemical and petrochemical sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction execution, commissioning, and start‑up activities for large capital projects.
• Manage construction contractors, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.
• Develop and monitor construction logistics, quality management plans, sequencing, and site considerations.
• Implement the Construction EHS plan and promote a strong safety culture.
• Investigate productivity or scheduling issues and drive corrective actions.
• Assist the project team in reviewing and authorising field changes to control costs.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align scope, budget, and schedule.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of construction management practices and technical standards for chemical/petrochemical facilities.
• Experience with large‑scale capital projects, including economic and cost‑control aspects.
• Ability to manage contractors and address technical issues on‑site.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
