Construction Manager – Commercial Development

About the role

Hillwood Urban is seeking a Construction Manager to join its commercial development team in Dallas, Texas. Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the role will oversee planning, design and construction of commercial projects, tenant improvements and capital initiatives, acting as a key liaison among all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in design and pre‑construction, providing input on budgets, schedules, constructability and feasibility.
• Assist in evaluating, qualifying and selecting general contractors, consultants and subcontractors, maintaining a network of qualified partners.
• Prepare project budgets, schedules, bid packages and supporting documentation for management review.
• Support due‑diligence activities, obtain permits, approvals and regulatory clearances.
• Identify project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with approved budgets, schedules and quality standards.
• Resolve design, engineering, constructability and field issues during construction.
• Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, schedule adherence and quality, and address issues impacting project objectives.
• Manage the review, tracking and timely resolution of RFIs, submittals and related project documentation.

• Experience managing commercial development projects, tenant improvements and capital improvement initiatives.
• Ability to assess project feasibility, budgets and schedules.
