Construction Inspector

About the role

This 100% travel position supports the Federal Aviation Administration’s Technical Support Services Contract as a Resident Engineer. You will perform quality‑control inspections on airport construction projects, spending 4‑6 weeks on site followed by a week at home, with all travel expenses covered.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and surveillance of subcontractor work according to training and contract requirements.
• Implement inspection, examination, and testing procedures and document results.
• Perform First‑Article and In‑Process inspections, including source inspections when needed.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years experience, or 10+ years equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Willingness to travel extensively and pass a government background check.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Experience using scheduling software.
• CAD software experience (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Digital photography for documenting inspections.
