Construction Inspector – Fiber Network Projects

About the role

As a Construction Inspector you will oversee all phases of B2B and FTTH fiber construction, ensuring projects meet Liberty’s quality standards, customer requirements and regulatory guidelines. You will lead field personnel, coordinate with contractors and support the Project Manager on day‑to‑day activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on commercial construction projects from walk‑out to completion.
• Issue work orders to in‑house and contractor crews and review completed work against business and municipal specifications.
• Conduct pre‑construction job walks, field inspections, and make‑ready assessments of aerial facilities owned by utilities.
• Prepare job cost estimates, detailed work prints, bills of materials and verify invoices for accuracy.
• Perform daily quality‑control inspections, opening vaults, pedestals and enclosures as needed.
• Ensure contractor compliance with OSHA, SCDOT and NESC safety standards and generate budgetary and production reports.
• Audit new‑build and joint‑trench projects, maintain precise data and mark network plant per government procedures.
• Coordinate commercial site surveys, building‑owner access and equipment colocation on customer premises.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in fiber network construction or related telecom projects.
• CCNA and CompTIA Network+ certifications (or equivalent).
• Bilingual ability in Spanish and English is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, electrical theory and related technical concepts.
