Construction Inspector – Aviation

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Inspector specialized in aviation projects to oversee inspections at an international airport in Nashville, TN. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will ensure that all construction, renovation and maintenance work complies with approved plans, specifications, codes and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections on multiple or complex airport construction projects, including concrete, structural, electrical, HVAC and insulation work.
• Review contractor submittals, material certifications, quality control plans and safety manuals for compliance.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, field testing of construction materials and verify test results.
• Document observations, non‑compliance issues and maintain accurate inspection records.
• Review and approve contractor pay applications and coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Mentor junior inspection staff and provide technical guidance on construction quality.
• Travel to construction sites as required; heavy lifting and work in varied weather conditions.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least 8 years of construction inspection experience, or an associate/bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field with 4‑6 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work independently on site.
• Willingness to work extended hours and overnight stays when needed.
