Computer Technician I

About the role

Under the direction of the Principal or designee, the Computer Technician I provides technical support to users of all district devices and application systems. The role involves troubleshooting, logging, prioritizing, and resolving incidents to ensure smooth technology operations for students, teachers, staff, and administrators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Tier 1 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Log, prioritize, and track all incidents in the ticketing system.
• Escalate complex issues and coordinate resolution with technology support, engineering teams, and subject‑matter experts.
• Assist in improving student application systems to increase operational efficiency.
• Resolve issues related to security, communication, collaboration, and productivity applications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 30 college units in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or one year of coursework at a technology‑related trade school.
• At least one year of relevant technology experience.
• Minimum one year of experience working with students in an instructional setting.

Required skills

• Ability to provide Tier 1 technical support for hardware and software.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Familiarity with security, communication, collaboration, and productivity applications.
• Experience using a ticketing system to log and manage incidents.
