Compliance Specialist 1 – Property Tax

About the role

The Georgia Department of Revenue’s Local Government Services Division is seeking a Compliance Specialist 1 to support county property tax administration. You will work directly with county officials, conduct on‑site audits, and help ensure compliance with state tax laws.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor county digests for compliance with Georgia property tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct on‑site audits to verify accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Provide guidance and support to counties on property tax matters.
• Deliver training classes and sessions as assigned by the LGS.
• Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of relevant experience in property tax, such as work with a County Board of Assessors, Tax Commissioner’s Office, accounting or auditing firm.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
