Compliance Specialist 1 – New Entrant Audit Program

About the role

The Georgia Department of Public Safety is seeking a Compliance Specialist 1 to join the New Entrant Audit Program within the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. The role involves conducting safety audits and regulatory reviews of new commercial transportation carriers during their first 18 months of operation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct off‑site and on‑site safety audits and compliance reviews of regulated commercial transportation enterprises.
• Perform commercial motor vehicle and driver safety inspections at state inspection locations.
• Audit carriers for compliance with state and federal regulations, guidelines, and laws.
• Coordinate investigations of non‑compliance and report findings to state and federal agencies.
• Recommend operational changes to carriers based on audit results.
• Review new rules, service site applications, and research relevant codes and industry manuals.

Required profile

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, organized, and able to meet program obligations.
• Ability to apply complex program laws, rules, and regulations.
• Experience in the commercial transportation industry.
• Experience in regulatory compliance or enforcement.
