Compliance Officer – US

About the role

As the Compliance Officer for the United States, you will lead and evolve Grunenthal’s U.S. Compliance & Ethics program, ensuring adherence to healthcare laws and industry standards while supporting responsible business growth. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, embedding compliance into strategy and fostering a culture of integrity and patient‑centric decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve the U.S. compliance program, aligning it with global frameworks and U.S. regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and deploy technology‑enabled tools, including AI‑driven monitoring and data analytics, to enhance risk detection and program efficiency.
• Provide strategic compliance guidance to Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory and other functional teams.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies across key risk areas.
• Oversee compliance training, monitoring, auditing activities and risk assessments.
• Partner with Legal to manage internal investigations, issue resolution and remediation.
• Support product launches and business initiatives with proactive compliance input.
• Lead responses to audits, regulatory inspections and government inquiries.
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing compliance team.
• Implement KPIs, dashboards and regular reports for senior and global leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a compliance function in a highly regulated, healthcare‑focused environment.
• Strong ability to advise senior leadership and influence business strategy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across U.S. and global teams.
• Track record of building and developing high‑performing teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, audit response and regulatory investigations.

Required skills

What we offer

• Base salary range $225,000 – $285,000 per year.
• Long‑Term Incentive Plan equal to 25% of base salary.
• Annual performance bonus target of 25% of base salary.
