Compliance Officer – Research Security

About the role

The Texas A&M University System Offices are seeking a Compliance Officer to support the Research Security Office. In this position you will ensure that research activities comply with federal, state and system security regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor a comprehensive compliance program aligned with ethical standards and applicable laws.
• Track adherence to federal, state and TAMU system research security regulations, policies and directives.
• Identify compliance vulnerabilities and create corrective action plans.
• Recommend updates to guidelines, procedures, policies and rules.
• Provide research security training and respond to subject‑matter‑expert review requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four years of experience in compliance, research security or a related area.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
