Job description

About the role

Evolve, a vacation rental company, is looking for a hands-on Compensation Manager to evaluate and rebuild its compensation structure. The role owns the end-to-end compensation program, designs a pay-for-performance strategy and works with People leadership, Finance and business leaders. It is open to candidates living in the U.S. except D.C. and Hawaii.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate and rebuild the compensation structure: job architecture, pay grades, salary ranges and leveling, aligned to internal equity, market competitiveness and growth.
  • Design a pay-for-performance strategy linking performance to merit, promotion, bonus and equity decisions.
  • Partner with Talent Management to integrate compensation into the performance framework (EPIC) and calibration, and into rewards for leverage, ownership and AI fluency.
  • Work with Finance and business leaders so annual bonus and commission plans reinforce key business outcomes.
  • Design and run annual merit, promotion and bonus cycles, including budget modeling, guidelines and manager tools.
  • Create manager and employee education on how pay works, and equip managers to have transparent pay conversations.
  • Advise People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and leaders on offers, promotions, transfers and off-cycle adjustments.
  • Monitor pay transparency, FLSA and pay equity requirements and run regular audits.
  • Use data and market insights to measure program effectiveness and recommend improvements, and build AI and automation into comp analysis and workflows.

Required profile

  • 5-7 years of compensation experience, including job architecture, salary structures and incentive plans.
  • Track record of building or overhauling a pay-for-performance program with measurable impact.
  • Experience in a high-growth or private-equity-backed company.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, HR or a related field, or equivalent experience; CCP a plus.

Required skills

  • Job leveling, market pricing, salary structures, merit and promotion budgeting, bonus, commission and equity.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state pay transparency laws, FLSA and pay equity analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets; HRIS experience (Rippling preferred).
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, and strong AI fluency.

What we offer

  • Salary range of $130,000 - $155,000 depending on experience.
  • Equity in the company and a 401(k) with a 4% immediate vesting match.
  • Medical, dental and vision plans, plus 10 free mental health visits and pet insurance.
  • 16-18 weeks of paid parental leave and 10 weeks for non-birthing parents, plus infertility coverage.
  • Generous PTO, RTO, sick leave, holidays and a personal holiday.
  • Annual travel credit and property discounts after one year.
