Compensation Consultant – Strategic HR Partner

About the role

The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Compensation Consultant. The role serves as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders, delivering expert guidance on compensation design, performance management, and workforce planning.

Key responsibilities

• Serves as a subject matter expert to HR Business Partners and department leaders.
• Presents findings and recommendations to leadership, including compensation assessments and pay equity reviews.
• Collaborates with Talent Management and HRIS to ensure data integrity and system alignment.
• Conducts job evaluations, market pricing, and internal equity analyses.
• Develops and maintains salary structures, merit matrices, and incentive models.
• Supports compensation planning cycles, including annual merit and bonus programs.
• Partners with HR leadership to align performance metrics with compensation outcomes.
• Provides consultation on performance calibration, goal setting, and rating distributions.
• Analyzes performance data to identify trends and recommends program enhancements.
• Ensures compensation practices comply with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant compensation experience.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
