Community Relations Intern – Sports & Entertainment

About the role

The New York Islanders Hockey Club is seeking a Community Relations Intern to support fan growth and community engagement initiatives. This fan‑facing position offers hands‑on experience at events, youth programs, and fundraising activities within a premier sports and entertainment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in setup, execution, and breakdown of Islanders events both on‑site and off‑site, including community tours, school programs, street hockey, and home games.
• Handle operational tasks for the Community Events Tour such as preparing team vehicles, setting up interactive games, and distributing promotional items.
• Engage with fans, collect event data, and ensure proper storage and reporting of information.
• Support planning and solicitation of donations for fundraising events organized by the nonprofit arm.
• Provide day‑to‑day assistance to the Community Relations team to strengthen relationships with local communities.
