Community Activities Aide – Youth & Family Services

About the role

Join the Seldovia Village Tribe (SVT) Youth and Family Services team as an Activities Aide. You will support the planning and execution of community‑focused programs, events, and outreach that promote cultural awareness, personal strength, and environmental stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing community activities, events, and educational outreach.
• Support the event calendar across all departments, handling set‑up, breakdown, and execution as needed.
• Build positive relationships with community members, serving as a reliable role model.
• Ensure all activities comply with venue rules, SVT policies, and applicable laws, identifying and correcting hazards.
• Promote tribal programs by maintaining connections with community leaders and organizations.
• Collaborate with peers and other departments to deliver a holistic program.
• Maintain compliance with grant requirements, regulations, and reporting protocols.
• Represent SVT professionally on and off premises in line with the SVT Personal Manual.
• Follow ICWA and mandatory reporter guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records for Youth & Family Services programs.
• Participate in internal and external committees and attend monthly staff meetings.
• Travel to nearby communities by small aircraft or boat as required.

Required profile

• Ability to work with all ages.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter Training (provided by SVT).
• CPR/First Aid certification (provided by SVT).
• Understanding of local community history, dynamics, and interests (preferred).
• Experience in community‑directed or youth programs (preferred).
