Communications/Content Specialist

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a self‑motivated Communications/Content Specialist to support both internal and external communication initiatives. You will join a dedicated content team and help engage diverse audiences across web, print, social media, email and more.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of the Bank’s communication strategy.
• Partner with business lines to create communication plans for strategic initiatives, identifying stakeholders and crafting key messages.
• Develop sensitive Bank‑wide communications related to leadership and organizational changes, coordinating timelines with senior leaders.
• Produce and review content across multiple formats and channels, ensuring quality, consistency and alignment.
• Identify and elevate stories from across the organization to increase awareness.
• Analyze audience engagement metrics and recommend improvements.
• Maintain editorial calendars and monitor media trends.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant communications experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively with general supervision.
• Willingness to provide samples of past communication plans or articles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with content management systems such as Wagtail, Sitecore or WordPress.
