Communications Specialist IV

About the role

The Communications Specialist IV supports Texas A&M Engineering’s mission by creating and delivering high‑impact communications that showcase faculty achievements, student success, and research breakthroughs. Working under limited supervision, you will lead strategic content initiatives across print, digital, and social platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Research, write, and edit feature stories, news articles, and profiles that highlight departmental impact.
• Promote special events and programs through targeted communications.
• Manage and grow the department’s social‑media presence.
• Coordinate production of print and electronic materials in partnership with Engineering Communications.
• Serve as a communications consultant to faculty, staff, and leadership, recommending effective strategies and resources.
• Track all project requests using a project‑management system.
• Maintain and update the department website, ensuring content relevance, navigation ease, and accessibility compliance.
• Provide front‑facing support for communications‑related inquiries.

• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
