Communications Specialist II

About the role
The Communications Specialist II creates news features that showcase faculty, students, and research for the Engineering News site. Working under general supervision, the role supports storytelling across print, multimedia, social, online, and media channels while assisting the content strategy team.
Key responsibilities
- Research, interview, and write press releases and feature articles highlighting engineering achievements.
- Identify and develop storytelling opportunities for various media formats.
- Collaborate with multimedia, social media, and design teams to produce integrated content packages.
- Proactively manage tasks and meet editorial deadlines.
- Assist with content review and creation as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of related communications or journalism experience.
- Master’s degree in journalism, communications, or science and technology journalism is a plus.
