Communications Officer

About the role

The Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University seeks a Communications Officer to lead external communications and expand its digital audience. You will translate programming events into engaging video stories and track performance across all digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy, monitoring analytics for all Initiative platforms.
• Manage digital channels, including website content, social media accounts, and newsletters.
• Drive external communications aimed at audience growth.
• Create multimedia storytelling using archival materials and current programming.
• Curate a media bulletin summarizing key news for Catholic stakeholders.
• Provide program management support for the Associate Director, including drafting, logistics, and scheduling for strategic initiatives such as the Fellows program.
• Lead communications for dialogues, gatherings, and events, drafting media advisories, coordinating with journalists, and producing promotional social media posts and graphics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 6‑8+ years of demonstrated communications, organizational support, and administrative experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism.
