Communications, Learning & Social Media Assistant

About the role

The Communications, Learning & Social Media Assistant will drive TUSA Farm’s digital storytelling and support the learning components of the GIZ/EU “Goats for Good” project. Based in Trumansburg, the role combines content creation, social media management and documentation to showcase the farm’s activities to customers, donors and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube aligned with brand guidelines and farming milestones.
• Produce original multimedia content including photos, short videos, reels, stories, infographics and articles that highlight products, people and impact.
• Ensure brand consistency across all channels and sub‑brands (TUSA Pure, TUSA Free, Bloom).
• Manage community engagement by responding to comments, messages and fostering audience growth.
• Support documentation and capacity‑building activities for the “Goats for Good” project, including capturing field demonstrations and preparing learning materials.
• Analyse social media metrics to optimise reach and report results to the CEO, Farm Manager and GIZ project team.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated communicator with a passion for agriculture and rural development.
• Creative storyteller able to translate technical farming activities into engaging visual narratives.
• Collaborative team player comfortable working with senior management and international donors.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a field‑connected environment.
