Communications Coordinator

About the role

DLA Piper is seeking a Communications Coordinator to strengthen the firm’s brand through strategic public relations initiatives. You will craft compelling press materials, nurture media relationships, and support day‑to‑day communications across the firm’s U.S. offices.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and distribute press releases that highlight firm achievements and align with brand messaging.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, supporting media outreach that advances strategic objectives.
• Monitor media coverage, compile monthly/quarterly/annual reports, and analyze metrics to assess campaign effectiveness.
• Provide ongoing support such as scheduling media calls, conducting ad‑hoc research, and proofreading press assets.
• Assist with additional communications projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Background in professional services preferred.
• Exceptional writing and editing abilities for diverse audiences.
• Experience in media relations within the legal or professional‑services landscape.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with attorneys and business professionals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a similar field.
