Communication Specialist II/III

About the role

The Texas A&M Engineering department is seeking a Communications Specialist at the II or III level to create, edit, and design informational and promotional materials, presentations, and support special events. This role will help shape and execute departmental communication plans and ensure consistent, engaging messaging across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and design a variety of communication assets, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, and digital content.
• Assist in the production of presentations and coordinate logistics for special events.
• Support the development and implementation of departmental communication strategies.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to deliver clear and compelling content.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years (level II) or 4 years (level III) of related communications experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
• Creative mindset with a focus on branding and audience engagement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word processing applications (e.g., Microsoft Word).
• Proficiency with spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
