Commercial Project Manager – Construction

About the role

McAlvain is seeking a Commercial Project Manager to lead concrete construction projects in Boise, Idaho. The role combines on‑site supervision, safety leadership, and coordination with superintendents, trades, and clients to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to design specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee concrete construction efforts, ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Collaborate with project superintendents, foremen, trade crews, client and A/E representatives, and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain a proactive safety culture, administer the project safety program, conduct regular safety meetings and monthly audits.
• Provide technical assistance, constructability reviews, and interpret drawings to develop efficient construction methods.
• Participate in purchasing decisions and scheduling commitments alongside the superintendent.
• Audit and update project schedules throughout design and construction phases, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Support on‑site coordination of engineering, material deliveries, equipment, and manpower.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Engineer with self‑perform concrete experience.
• Strong understanding of all building construction trades and cost projecting.
• Proficiency in Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
• OSHA 30 (or higher) certification and solid safety standards knowledge.
• Self‑starter with proven leadership abilities.
