Commercial Litigation Attorney – Long Island

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Associate to join our Commercial Litigation team on Long Island. The attorney will handle complex commercial disputes in both state and federal courts, providing strategic guidance to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions, appear in court, and represent clients in arbitrations and mediations.
• Oversee all phases of discovery, including document review, production and strategy.
• Negotiate settlements and collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, motion practice and trial preparation.
• Supervise junior attorneys and support staff as needed.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (New Jersey admission a plus).
• Minimum five years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from start to finish.
• Strong writing, analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and client‑management skills.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with motion practice, depositions and court appearances.
• Proficiency in managing discovery, arbitrations, mediations and settlement negotiations.
