Commercial Counsel – North America

About the role

This position offers a forward‑thinking lawyer the chance to join TikTok’s Global Monetization Legal Team, supporting the company’s fast‑growing Monetization and Sales businesses across North America. The role blends commercial law expertise with a deep understanding of digital advertising, data privacy, and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and strategic engagements with media buying clients, agencies, and marketing partners.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including sales contracts, partnership agreements, sponsorship deals, service provider agreements, and creative asset releases.
• Provide legal guidance on TikTok’s advertising policies, data/privacy issues, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive process‑improvement projects, develop knowledge‑management tools, templates, and playbooks for legal and commercial teams.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate from a top‑tier ABA‑accredited law school and admission to the California or New York bar.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in digital advertising.
• Strong knowledge of advertising laws, FTC guidelines, and data‑collection best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and counsel sales/marketing business teams.
