Commercial Counsel

About the role

ActiveCampaign is seeking a Commercial Counsel to shape the legal framework that supports its global growth. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will act as a strategic partner, guiding complex transactions and protecting the company’s interests across customers, vendors, and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the General Counsel and senior leadership on a variety of legal matters affecting the ActiveCampaign family of businesses.
• Draft, negotiate, and review customer, vendor, partnership, NDA, MSA, and license agreements.
• Provide legal advice to internal departments and committees as needed.
• Maintain relationships with external counsel and oversee their engagement.
• Collaborate with revenue and legal operations teams to streamline and automate contractual workflows.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and mitigate practical legal risks.

Required profile

• Four‑year college degree and a Juris Doctorate.
• Active membership in good standing with a State Bar.
• 3+ years of experience as an attorney focused on transactional, commercial, or corporate law, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
• Proven track record negotiating contracts of varying risk and value.
• Experience creating and maintaining contractual playbooks or legal resources.
• Familiarity with global data‑privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Experience advising clients with international operations.
• Strong research and project‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with contract management platforms, specifically Ironclad and/or Zip.
