Comm Ops Data Engineer – Shockwave Medical

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Comm Ops Data Engineer for its Shockwave Medical portfolio. The role is fully remote and supports the development of innovative cardiovascular medical technologies by providing reliable data pipelines and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SQL‑based data pipelines for ETL from enterprise data warehouses.
• Create semantic models and views in Snowflake to enable self‑service analytics.
• Collaborate with business users to understand data needs and deliver technical solutions.
• Experiment with new data‑engineering techniques and tools to drive innovation.
• Monitor data systems, improve performance and ensure data security.
• Coordinate with IT to guarantee seamless data flow across systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong expertise in SQL and ETL tools for data transformation and warehouse management.
• Experience working with Snowflake; Streamlit experience is a plus.
• Understanding of Power BI or other business‑intelligence tools.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to optimize data applications.
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages.
• Biotech, medical‑device or life‑sciences experience is a plus.

What we offer

• Base salary range $91,000 – $147,200 per year (visible).
