Color Development Manager

About the role

SKIMS is seeking a Color Development Manager to lead end‑to‑end color development across assigned product categories, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and on‑time execution from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the seasonal color development process from initial standards through bulk production approval.
• Partner with Design and Materials teams to translate seasonal color direction into achievable production standards across fabrics, trims, and components.
• Review and evaluate lab dips, strike‑offs, yarn dyes, prints, and trims for accuracy and consistency, providing clear feedback to mills and vendors.
• Maintain approved color standards and ensure communication across internal teams and external partners.
• Own color development timelines, track submissions and approvals, and proactively identify risks.
• Build strong relationships with mills, dye houses, and suppliers, establishing clear expectations for color submissions and turnaround times.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Textile Science, Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in color development, textile development, materials development, product development, or a related apparel function.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of textile color development, dyeing processes, fabric construction, and material behavior.
• Experience evaluating and approving lab dips, strike‑offs, yarn dyes, prints, trims, and bulk color.
• Proficiency with PLM systems, Adobe Suite, Airtable, Microsoft Office Suite, and color management software.
• Familiarity with spectrophotometers, lightboxes, digital color management platforms, Pantone and Archroma color systems.
