College Recruitment Worker (Federal Work Study)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a motivated Federal Work‑Study student to join the Recruitment Department at the Flint Campus. As a College Recruitment Worker you will be the first point of contact for prospective students, high‑school visitors, and the public, helping to showcase the university’s programs and opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Greet campus visitors, determine their needs, and direct them to appropriate resources.
• Provide campus tours for high‑school groups and assist with college‑fair participation.
• Support recruitment events, including scheduling, set‑up, and follow‑up communications.
• Answer, screen, and route telephone calls courteously and accurately.
• Perform administrative tasks such as typing, filing, data entry, and correspondence with prospective students.
• Maintain accurate and timely messages for staff and visitors.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong verbal communication and professional phone etiquette.
• Ability to follow directions, accept feedback, and work reliably according to schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office equipment (copy machine, fax, phone system).
• Basic knowledge of college activities, recruitment processes, and public‑facing information.
• Ability to type, file, and enter data accurately.
