About the role
The College Life Coach at East Texas A&M University supports first‑year and second‑year students by addressing academic, financial, career, and psychosocial challenges. Working under the Director of Student Transition and Support, the coach helps students navigate university life and improves retention.
Key responsibilities
- Provide individualized guidance to students enrolled in first‑year seminars and related programming.
- Identify and address barriers to academic success, including financial and career concerns.
- Collaborate with campus services to coordinate support for psychosocial issues.
- Track student progress and contribute to retention initiatives.
- Maintain documentation of student interactions and outcomes.
Required profile
- Strong interpersonal and counseling abilities.
- Experience working with college‑age students in an educational setting.
- Ability to assess and respond to diverse student needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to student success and retention.
