College Career Coach (JAG Program)

About the role

The College Career Coach supports the Jobs for Arkansas Graduates (JAG) College Success Program, helping high‑school students, JAG graduates, and other at‑risk learners navigate enrollment, stay enrolled, and achieve degree completion. This 12‑month, grant‑funded position reports to the Director of JAG and Career Coach Programs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify high‑school students whose career interests align with higher‑education pathways and guide them through the college enrollment process.
• Provide one‑on‑one coaching for JAG graduates and other at‑risk students to address academic, financial, or personal barriers.
• Monitor student progress, develop individualized action plans, and coordinate with campus resources to promote retention.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes in compliance with grant reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and community partners to expand support services.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in student advising, career counseling, or related support services.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education enrollment processes and student success strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse student populations.
• Commitment to the mission of the JAG program and to serving students aging out of foster care or with disabilities.
