Collections Clerk – Driver Authorization

About the role

The Collections Clerk – Driver Authorization works at R+L Carriers' Wilmington, Ohio service center. You will handle inbound calls from drivers and customers, authorizing freight releases and returns while ensuring accurate billing and credit decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Answer phone calls from local drivers and customers to provide freight release authorizations.
• Review multiple billing queues to determine credit eligibility and authorize collect shipments.
• Identify necessary billing changes and coordinate them with the Corrections team.
• Communicate with internal and external contacts to resolve billing and authorization issues.
• Maintain accurate records of authorizations and billing adjustments.

Required profile

• Computer literate with the ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
• Professional, self‑motivated, energetic with excellent attendance.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Result‑oriented and solution‑driven.
• Basic knowledge of Windows, Outlook, and other Microsoft products.
• Preferred: 2+ years of clerk or similar experience in a fast‑pace environment and freight logistics experience.

• Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
