Coastal Coordinator/EI

About the role

HDR is seeking a Coastal Coordinator/EI to support water‑resource projects that protect communities and ecosystems. You will work closely with project engineers, applying design and modeling techniques to a variety of flood‑control and restoration initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project engineers in developing water‑resource designs for federal, state, and local municipalities.
• Perform hydraulics and hydrology modeling, including stormwater collection system simulations.
• Collect, assimilate, and present data for flood control, river design, dike and levee systems, and wetland or lake restoration projects.
• Produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and conduct water‑resources studies.
• Support additional project tasks as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned, inclusive culture.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred; candidates without EIT will be placed in a Design Coordinator role and expected to obtain the certification.
