Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer – CPG Startup

About the role

We are seeking an operating co‑founder to build the production machine behind Forbidden Sauce, an entertainment‑first BBQ sauce brand. As Chief Operating Officer you will partner with the Founder‑CEO to turn a finalized recipe and brand platform into a scalable, commercial product line.

Key responsibilities

• Select and negotiate with co‑manufacturers and production partners.
• Source ingredients and packaging, manage procurement contracts and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Plan production runs, oversee first‑run execution, and ensure quality, food‑safety and regulatory compliance.
• Develop demand forecasts, inventory policies, and working‑capital strategies.
• Manage warehousing, 3PL logistics, freight, and retail distribution readiness.
• Implement EDI, retailer compliance, and operational infrastructure for scaling.

Required profile

• Proven experience taking at least one packaged food or beverage product from formulation to commercial production.
• Hands‑on familiarity with co‑manufacturing, ingredient and packaging supply chains.
• Track record of building production planning, quality systems, and logistics operations.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving startup environment and travel regularly.
